The increasing demand for economical production processes requires continuous improvements from the beginning of the process chain to the final quality of the product. A portion of the project deals with the increased yield in the production of ferro-alloys with nickel and molybdenum. The quality of ferrovanadium should be improved, as well. A detailed consideration of the metal and slag phase during the melting process is therefore important. Thermodynamic calculations help in the design and interpretation of experiments.
